Metro has little to go on as detectives investigate the 78th homicide this year.
Wednesday about 10:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to the northeast corner of Eastern Avenue and Fremont Street to investigate reports of a man shot. Arriving officers discovered a deceased male lying near the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives have determined the victim was approached by three males when he was shot. The suspects then fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
The suspects can only be described as males, approximately 20 years of age. One of the suspects was last seen riding away on a bicycle.
As of this release, no suspects have been identified. The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
The shooting is the 78th homicide investigated by Metro this year.
