Ford Explorer sought in hit-and-run that injured pedestrian

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured a pedestrian Wednesday night near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Walnut Road.

According to a Metro news release, the pedestrian was walking across Las Vegas Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk just after 8 p.m. A sport utility vehicle, described as a white 2006 or 2007 Ford Explorer, was traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard, north of Walnut Road.

The pedestrian entered the northbound travel lanes and was struck by the vehicle.

The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The vehicle would have sustained moderate right front end damage and possible undercarriage damage.

The pedestrian was transported to UMC Trauma Center and admitted with critical injuries.
