LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) As Las Vegas police continue investigating Sunday’s shooting deaths of two police officers and a Walmart customer, more details have emerged.

A married couple, Jerad and Amanda Miller, fighting for a “revolution” against police and government authority, killed two Metro officers in a pizza restaurant, then shot a man to death in a nearby Walmart before turning their guns on themselves.

In a midday news conference, Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie complemented his officers on their response to the crimes.

“I’m proud of your focus over the past 24 hours,” Gillespie said. “You showed no fear entering a building, knowing shots had been fired and that two of your brothers had already been shot.”

Gillespie described what a tough two days it has been for the Metropolitan Police department since two patrol officers were ambushed inside a Cici’s Pizza restaurant at Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said Jerad Miller, 31, pulled out a handgun and shot Officer Igor Saldo one time in the head. Miller and his wife, Amanda, then shot the second officer, Alyn Beck.

Before leaving, the shooters placed a yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” flag and a swastika on the officers, along with a note.

McMahill said the note stated that a revolution was beginning.

The couple then crossed the street and entered a Walmart.

Jerad Miller walked in the front doors, fired a shot and told people to get out, that “[T]his is a revolution and police are on the way,” McMahill said.

Inside the store, Amanda Miller shot and killed Joseph Wilcox, 31, who had pulled a concealed weapon on Jerad Miller, but apparently did not see Amanda.

As officers arrived, they forced the Millers toward the back of the store. A gun battle ended with the murder-suicide of the assailants.

“Amanda removed her handgun and fired several rounds into Jerad where he then immediately passed on the floor,” McMahill said. “At that point Amanda took her handgun and ended her own life with one gunshot to the head.”
