LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Metro is seeking two suspects in a Wednesday night shooting homicide in the north part of the valley.

The Clark County coroner's office has identified the victim as 27-year-old Robert Matthews. He died of a gunshot wound to the torso and the death has been ruled a homicide.

Metro has had 67 homicides in its jurisdiction so far this year and has made arrests in 34 cases.

Police officers found Matthews about 10 p.m. Wednesday on a sidewalk near the Northpointe Apartments near West Cheyenne and Avenue and North Rancho Drive.

He was rushed to UMC and died a short time later.

The early investigation indicates the victim and two other people were confronted by two men in a dark four-door sedan. A brief argument took place and multiple shots were fired. Matthews' two acquaintances ran away and the two suspects fled in the vehicle.

Police have not identified the suspects.
