LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- Metro is searching for a possible gang-affiliated suspect in a west Las Vegas standoff Wednesday night.

"We don't have much to go on and gang unit officers are investigating," Metro Officer Laura Meltzer said Thursday afternoon.

The man arrested was 24-year-old Tyrell Gill. He faces several charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

It was a tense situation at the apartment complex in the 6600 block of West Washington.

One of the suspects fled the scene; the other, Gill, had barricaded himself inside an apartment with three children.

Dozens of officers, emergency personnel and SWAT swarmed the area, blocking off parts of Washington Street from Rainbow to Torrey Pines.

Residents were evacuated from the complex as SWAT teams tried to communicate with the suspect.

The three children were taken to their mother unharmed.
