Metro homicide detectives say a woman was killed and her body dropped on a street near a school on the east side early Saturday.
A passerby called Metro about 5:50 a.m. after seeking a woman's body at Fairchild Street and East Washington Avenue across from Brookman School.
"Metro and fire responded and she was declared dead at the scene," Metro Lt. James Mizusaki told News 3.
According to a Metro news release issued Saturday afternoon, the investigation initiated by Metro's homicide detectives indicated the victim suffered an unknown type of trauma.
The investigation further revealed that the death of the victim occurred at another location, and that she was discarded at the scene.
Detectives are attempting to locate any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County corner’s office.
