LAS VEGAS –
The Nevada Department of Transportation, in partnership with the City of Las Vegas and in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, will hold a public information meeting for Project NEON.
The meeting will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The meeting will be held in the Desert Living Center conference rooms, which are in the upper level. Directional signs will be provided.
Project NEON is a 3.7-mile transportation improvements project along I-15 from the Sahara Avenue Interchange to the US 95/I-515 Interchange in downtown Las Vegas. Project NEON will increase capacity in the corridor by alleviating congestion, improving traveler safety, while also providing better local access to downtown Las Vegas including the Medical District, Smith Center, Downtown Arts District, the Container Park, and numerous local businesses.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend at their convenience anytime during the meeting hours of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Project representatives will be on hand to discuss and answer questions. There will be a brief project presentation at 5:30 p.m. followed by a short comment period from the audience.
Before and after the presentation, the meeting will be conducted as an open house format to provide attendees with an opportunity to view displays, and individually discuss the project with project representatives.
Public comments may be submitted for public record in writing at the meeting or verbally to a court reporter, who will be available throughout the meeting. In addition to any comments received at the meeting, written or e-mail comments will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 12. Comments may be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org
