LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) — The woman suspected of arson at her pet store and endangering nearly 30 puppies had her bail set at $310,000 this morning at the Regional Justice Center.
According to records cited by Justice of the Peace Janiece Marshall, the suspect, Gloria Lee, 35, has three earlier convictions — including one for escape from custody — as a huge reason why she raised the bail.
Lee’s attorney, Tom Pitaro, said he doesn’t have record of Lee having a prior escape conviction. Lee was led away from the courtroom in handcuffs.
Lee was arrested Jan. 29, two days after the early morning fire at the Prince and Princess Puppy Boutique in the 6800 block of South Rainbow Boulevard, according to a news release from the Clark County district attorney’s office. Firefighters rescued 27 puppies, and they are being cared for at Lied Animal Shelter.
A status check has been set for Tuesday, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24.
