LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A local school sent out a warning to parents after a possible attempted abduction of a student.

According to Clifford Findlay Middle School in North Las Vegas, a female student says a man approached her as she was walking home alone on Wednesday.

The letter says an African-American man in his 20s or 30s was driving a white van and tried to get the student into his car.

This was near the Smith's grocery store on Camino al Norte and Ann Road. The letter says when the student ran home the suspect turned to follow.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Las Vegas police at 633-9111.
