Detectives seek suspect in apartment homicide

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – A man is dead after a shooting this morning in the 7100 block of Smoke Ranch Road, near Tenaya.

Metro officers arrived around 8:30 a.m. and found the victim with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to UMC, where he later died.

Officers continue to search for the suspect.

LVMPD Homicide detectives responded to the scene. Detectives learned the victim and the suspect were seen together within the complex arguing just prior to the shooting.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male standing approximately 6-feet-tall and weighing 180 pounds.

The suspect is further described as having very short hair and numerous tattoos on both arms and one on the back of his neck that extends to the middle of the back of his head. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and tan cargo shorts. The suspect is believed to have left the area on foot.

The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
