LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A snowboarder died in an accident on Mount Charleston about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Metro police Lt. Mark Reddon said a 20-year-old was injured in Lee Canyon and was transported to University Medical Center where he died.
Clark County spokesman Erik Pappa said county firefighters from the Mt. Charleston fire station and Nevada Division of Foresty staffers responded to the accident.
The victim was flown to UMC where he died from his injuries.
The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the victim.
Kevin Stickelman, president and general of the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort issued the following statement.
"The entire staff of Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is devastated by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends. We are respecting their privacy during this very difficult time."
A spokeswoman for the resort declined any other comments and refused to answer any questions.
