LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The suspect from the fatal hit-and-run accident that happened Wednesday night at the intersection of Charleston and Arville is in custody.

Edward Barber, 49, turned himself in to the Metro's Enterprise Area Command today at 12:36 p.m. He has been charged with: Failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death or personal injury (felony); Driving without valid license; Not having proof of auto insurance.

The four-vehicle hit-and-run collision Wednesday night killed a 75-year-old Las Vegas woman.

According to a Metro news release, a 1993 GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound on Charleston Boulevard just after 6:35 p.m., approaching the intersection of Arville Street. A 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling westbound on Charleston making a left turn at the intersection of Arville.

Both vehicles entered the intersection, resulting with the front of the GMC striking the passenger side of the Oldsmobile.

The Oldsmobile ended up the sidewalk, hitting the wall of the Flex Bar. The front of the GMC struck a 2001 Honda Odyssey stopped in the left turn lane. The Honda was pushed back into a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan that was also stopped in the left turn lane of northbound Arville.

This is the 31st fatal injury traffic collision in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2014. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigations Section.
