Metro said two female passengers, aged 21 and 20, respectively, were killed when a man driving a 2005 Hyundai Sonata traveling at a high rate of speed lost control on Ogden Avenue east of City Parkway and hit a bridge pier.

The dead women are Las Vegas residents Joann Zermeno and Briana Medina.

The accident was reported at 12:49 a.m.

Bronik Sardaryan, 21, of Las Vegas, was the driver. He suffered serious injuries.

Sardaryan and the front-seat passenger were transported to UMC where the passenger was pronounced dead. The rear-seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatalities are the 11th and 12th in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
