Two people lose jobs over patient dumping scandal

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Two people have been fired following the patient dumping scandal at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital.

News 3 has also learned additional members of the hospital's medical staff are being disciplined for failing to follow procedures when bussing discharged patients out of state.

News 3's Marissa Mike has the latest information in the patient dumping investigation.

According to health officials, during the last five years, of the near 1,500 cases of discharged patients who were shipped out of state on a bus by Rawson-Neal, there were 10 instances where staff did not follow policy.

So there are 10 cases where patients may have been sent to places all over the country with no help and no support system while waiting at his or her destination.
