NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A 50-year-old Las Vegas woman died and her 11-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries Saturday evening in a two-vehicle accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The Clark County coroner's office has identified the woman as Belinda Sutton. It said she died of blunt force trauma to her torso.
According to North Las Vegas police Officer Aaron Patty, Sutton was driving a Ford F-150 pickup; she pulled out from a stop sign on Cartier Avenue and was hit by a Crown Victoria that was headed northbound on MLK. The accident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m.
"It appears the Ford pulled out in front of the Crown Vic as motorists on MLK do not have to stop at Cartier," Patty said.
He said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
Sutton was unconscious when officers and medical help arrived and was transported to UMC Trauma, where she later died.
The 19-year-old driver of the Crown Victoria was not injured.
