LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) -- A driver beat a bicyclist after crashing into a tree following a hit-and-run crash near Sunset Park Wednesday at 5:20 p.m.

The bicyclist was attacked after the driver stepped out of his car and attempted to steal the man's bike. Police say that the suspect was high on narcotics and crashed into the tree shortly after being involved on a hit-and-run accident on the 215 south of Warm Springs. Police arrested the suspect after he was detained by citizens in the area.

The bicyclist sustained non-life-threatening facial injuries and was treated at Sunrise Hospital.
