PARK CITY, Utah (KSNV MyNews3.com) — Before David Wise was blowing minds and winning gold at this year’s X Games in Aspen, Colo., he was in Park City, Utah, where he joined Team USA for some Olympic qualifying runs.
Wise, who is a likely gold-medal contender for the Sochi Winter Olympics this month in halfpipe freeskiing, is not shy about showing off his skills and moves for the News 3 cameras, wherever they are.
“I think that’s the most exciting thing about the Olympics; that we’re going to be able to show off the sport to a whole new audience … people who have never seen it before, never even thought of it before,” Wise said.
“On skis, we have two edges we can really lock onto the walls. The field of skiers will generally go two to three feet higher.”
David’s wife, Alexandra, and daughter, Nayeli, help keep him grounded, even as he prepares to soar in Sochi.
