Rangers recover body near Lake Mohave's Paiute Cove

BOULDER CITY (KSNV – The body of a 79-year-old Riverside, Calif., man was recovered Sunday afternoon from the waters of Lake Mohave near Paiute Cove.

According to a news release, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call just before 2:30 p.m. reporting that the man went into the water, began to struggle and disappeared underwater.

National Park Service park rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens and Bullhead City Fire Department divers responded to the scene and recovered the victim.

The Clark County coroner's officer will confirm the victim’s identity and determine his cause of death.

Witnesses reported that the man was not wearing a life jacket. The incident is under investigation.
