NORTH LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) –
A local Facebook post about the police shooting of an unarmed man in Ferguson, Mo., turned into a rally for peace.
People gathered Thursday night at the base of the Martin Luther King Jr. statue, asking for solutions to lower the frequency of police shootings in the United States.
Some say they were concerned that what happened in Ferguson could happen here. While some are angry, they gathered in a spirit of peace and called for an end to racial profiling.
One organizer said the community needs to build bridges, not burn them. It seemed that was happening Thursday night. Police were seen talking, hugging, and taking pictures with people at the rally.
