LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- News 3 has obtained new video catching the moments before the tragic death of a local teen.

Police say 15-year-old Marcos Arenas was killed for his iPad.

Some of the evidence is too graphic. The most compelling are images of the first close encounter of Arenas with one of his accused murderers.

News 3 has surveillance video that police say shows 21-year-old Michael Solid exiting the Terrible's convenience store at Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines while Arenas walks in holding his iPad in his right hand.

Another security shot captures Arenas inside the convenience store with a friend by his side.

Meantime, Solid's accused accomplice, Jacob Dismont, wearing a baseball hat, is seen walking around the gas station looking for a victim.

Minutes later, in a horrific chain of events, police say Dismont grabbed Arenas' iPad while he was walking on Charleston Boulevard.

According to police, Dismont hopped into an SUV driven by the getaway driver, Solid. While Arenas tried to keep hold of his device, prosecutors say Arenas was dragged underneath the tires. He later died from his injuries.

As part of their investigation, detectives examined the texts on Dismont's phone. They allegedly describe an incriminating text conversation between Dismont and his friend, Brian Goodwin. Police say the conversation focused on how to get rid of his SUV.

The conversation includes advice: "Odds are that you can never drive that Explorer again unless you get it painted. It's too hot. Even with the tires and whatnot."

Another text from Goodwin, “Dude, everyone who know that you drive that whip knows you prolly did it. That's why time is of the essence."

The final few texts say: “You shouldn't drive it if you do take it to get painted. You're gonna need to tell your dad you're gonna need as much of your money as it takes to get it painted."
