BOULDER CITY (KSNV MyNews3.com) — While some parts of town are experiencing too much water, over at Lake Mead, that's not the case.
By the end of next week, the lake could reach its lowest water level in years. In 2010, levels dropped to a record low of 1,081 feet. Today the lake's level is just 2 feet away from that dangerously low level.
One of the biggest concerns is losing popular launch ramps. This fall, officials plan to excavate the Boulder Harbor Channel at the lake, which would help tied things over until 2015. After that, if water levels drop any lower, Boulder Harbor could be shut down.
