LAS VEGAS (KSNV – Prosecutors and defense attorneys continue to argue over the trial date for two suspects in a pet store fire that endangered 27 dogs.

Gloria Lee, 35, and Kirk Bills, 27, were in court this morning at the Regional Justice Center. Each face counts of first-degree arson, conspiracy to commit first-degree arson, conspiracy to commit burglary, and 27 counts of attempt cruelty to animals in relation to the Jan. 27 fire at Prince & Princess Pet Store on South Rainbow Boulevard.

Sprinklers and quick action by Clark County firefighters saved the animals.

The judge denied the defense’s oral request to move back the start of the Oct. 6 trial date, but said he will revisit the issue once the defense submits a written request.

Lee is out on bail. Bills continues to be housed at the Clark County Detention Center on $310,000 bail.
