CARSON CITY (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A man in and out of the prison system for nearly 40 years has died, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.
Benny Manning, 63, died of a chronic medical condition Wednesday at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
Manning was first incarcerated on May 5, 1976, for his conviction in Washoe County on sexual assault. Since then, Manning had been granted multiple paroles, with each being revoked, including one instance of grand larceny.
He had been in the Northern Nevada Correctional Center since Aug. 9, 2006. The Carson City coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy. His family has been notified.
