LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – The identity of the man who was shot by Metro officers during a domestic disturbance has been released.
Kyle Kuhn, 31, is facing three counts of assault with deadly weapon against a police officer; and one count each of resisting a police officer with a weapon and battery domestic violence.
According to Metro, its Call Center received numerous calls reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 7600 block of Calico Fields Street, near Oso Blanca and Farm roads. The reports further indicated that a male was possibly armed.
Patrol officers responded to the residence and began to set up a perimeter. The officers attempted to establish communication with the occupants of the residence via telephone and bullhorn.
As officers approached the residence, they observed a male behind a vehicle wearing a mask, hat and sunglasses. Officers gave the suspect verbal commands, which he disregarded.
The suspect then advanced on the officers with a large knife raised over his head. Officers fired a low lethality shotgun as well as handgun to stop the suspect’s attack.
The suspect fell to the ground where he was taken into custody and transported to the UMC Trauma Center.
