LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Feedback on Wet 'N' Wild -- the valley's newest water park -- is mixed.

Wet 'N' Wild opened on Memorial Day weekend amid much hype, but within hours, complaints started pouring in.

Coming Thursday: A Clark County commissioner has faith in the new attraction. On News 3 at 5.
The chief complaints focus on lines and parking. Because of the crowds, parking often spills out into surrounding neighborhoods off Fort Apache, and that hasn't gone over well with nearby residents.

The water park has two lots, but on some days, they fill up quickly. And there is a $5 charge.

Metro has been called out to help manage traffic in the park's opening weeks, which the park is paying for. But even the officers’ presence doesn’t stop drivers from parking on side streets.

Also, there are no crosswalks, and many families dodge traffic to get to the park.

Inside the park, lines are common. People can expect a wait for some of the more popular slides. Food is available but often also comes with a wait.

There were other glitches when the park opened: Season passes sold out quickly, and some who pre-purchased them are trying to sell theirs online at a premium.

But even park goers who bought passes ahead of time had trouble getting an entry card.
