PAHRUMP (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A Pahrump man is under arrest after hitting a deputy and attempting escape after his apprehension into a hit-and-run incident, according to a news release from the Nye County Sheriff’s Office.
Bruce Lester Jordan, 44, faces two counts of hit and run and one count each of DUI alcohol with accident; resisting arrest; fail to maintain lane; expired insurance; battery on a peace officer by a prisoner; and attempted escape.
According to the release, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hit and run around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The suspect was followed to his residence.
Deputies arrived at the residence and attempted to make contact with Jordan. Upon making entry, Jordan ran out the back door of the residence. A short foot pursuit ensued, and Jordan was apprehended at the back of the property. He continued to fight with deputies until he was taken into custody.
After Jordan was arrested and in handcuffs, he kicked a deputy and then attempted to escape. He was subdued and continued to fight with deputies until such time as he was hobbled and restrained in the patrol vehicle.
Jordan was booked into the Nye County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
