LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Police say they have arrested the woman accused of a double carjacking and a hit-and-run.

Metro arrested Erica Hagan, 42, on May 31 on the 7400 block of Pirates Cove. She's facing eight charges including attempted murder, grand larceny and battery by strangulation.

The carjacking occurred May 21 near Decatur Boulevard and Rancho Drive.

Police say Hagan was taking a cab from the Plaza Hotel when she attacked the driver, Yohannes Tsegaye. She choked him, hit him with a large rock and stole money from his pocket.

He then pulled over and fled from the cab.

That's when Hagen is accused of taking the cab and driving onto the sidewalk, hitting Tsegaye.

Police say Hagan drove the cab to Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard, where she ran a red light, crashed the cab and stole a second car.

Hagan is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.

Hagen was booked on charges of battery by strangulation, robbery with deadly weapon, attempted murder with deadly weapon, battery with deadly weapon, duty to stop at scene of an accident, robbery and two counts of grand larceny of an auto.
