LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Last week, Apple announced ways to make your cell phone less attractive to thieves -- an activation lock feature, which requires reactivation only with your Apple ID and password.

However, even if you have your phone, identity thieves try to find ways to get your personal information.

The Better Business Bureau of Southern Nevada says it's easy to keep them away in this Rip-Off Alert.

Have a password on your smart phone. It makes breaking in a lot more difficult.

Remove your auto log because if you were to lose your phone, identity thieves would have access to all your information.

Change your password frequently or for every account that raises risk of credit or ID theft.
