LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Our Crime Tracker 3 team continues to look into the brutality of sex trafficking. Marie Mortera talked with a victim whose shocking experience inspired the film "Eden."

“I thought I was going to die,” says Chong Kim, a sex trafficking victim depicted in the film "Eden."

The film is based on two years of her life as a trafficking victim, which began in the mid-1990s with a man she believed was a boyfriend. He actually worked for the traffickers.

“He said ‘stick your arms out,’ I was shaking,” Kim said. “They bound my wrists, blindfold, potato sack over my head, and I had lay down inside the vehicle."

She was driven from Oklahoma to a Nevada warehouse, where she was surrounded by dozens of girls.

“Most of them couldn't speak English. The youngest one was a 7-year-old,” Kim said.

They were all trafficked across country.

After a year, she says her only chance to escape was to join her torturers so, she became a madam.

“It wasn't by choice. It was the hardest thing,” Kim said. “I didn't know how to get out. At the time I was pregnant.”

With the realization that two lives were at risk, she decided to finally make a run for it.

“The maintenance guy told me I need to crawl through a laundry chute,” she said.

She says she had no choice but to resort to crime to leave and she attacked a man.

“I took his car,” she said.

Within 24 hours, she called an adoption agency.

“There was one in Arizona. They said we can go to the Greyhound station and get you out to where we are at,” Kim said.

Now decades later, she doesn't know where her traffickers are, but she shares her story to raise awareness of a hell children are forced into.

“I can't sleep if I don't speak out,” Kim said.

The non-profit Bamboo Bridges is holding a fundraiser and will show the film screening. Click this link for more information.
