Cuban national indicted in grow house partner's death

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Clark County grand jury this morning indicted a man suspected of killing his partner in a marijuana grow house.

Leandro Lopez-Turatiz, 29, a Cuban national, is charged with murder in the first degree in the 2009 death of Francisco Lambert-Cordero.

According to a police report, Lambert-Cordero's body was found hidden under pine boughs near a BLM fire access road in May 2009. Police determined he had been moved there after being shot and killed within the previous 48 hours.

Police discovered Lambert-Cordero's blood in the apartment had previously been occupied by the two, along with bloody fingerprints that matched Lopez-Turatiz's prints.

A warrant for Lopez-Turatiz's arrest was issued in January 2010. According to police, Lopez-Tuartiz fled to Canada, and was successfully extradited to the United States this year.

Lopez-Turatiz was ordered held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 31.

Also indicted today were:

Aaron Worrell, 22, and Keegan Butler, 20, on several counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery with use of a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $140,000 for each suspect. Their next court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m. March 27.

James Lee Wayne on one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. His next appearance will be at 9 a.m. April 2.

Alex Newsome, 27, on five counts of burglary while in possession of a firearm; four counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon; and one count of attempted robbery with use of a deadly weapon, in relation to a series of convenience store thefts. Bail was set at $200,000. Newsome will return to court at 10 a.m. March 26.

Khairi Wilson on one count each of burglary and invasion of the home.
