LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A Clark County grand jury this morning indicted a man suspected in a fatal shooting this month near Lake Mead and Nellis.
Raul Gonzales, 33, is facing one count each of murder with use of a deadly weapon; discharging a gun at or into an occupied structure; and possession of a firearm by an ex-felon; and four counts of child endangerment.
According to Metro, the victim, later identified as Eric Montoya, was at home Jan. 14 when he heard a knock at his residence in the 1600 block of White Skies Court. As he went to answer, multiple shots were fired through the door, two of which struck Montoya. He died a few hours later at UMC Trauma Center.
Gonzales was apprehended the next day in a hotel parking lot in the 3600 block of Boulder Highway.
Prosecutors say Gonzales has a prior murder conviction as is awaiting trial for two other felony cases. Judge Linda Ball ruled that Gonzales to be held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 11.
Also indicted today was Ladonna Antwanette Booker on one count each of trafficking a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substances Act. Her next court appearance is set for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18.
