Suspect sought in homicide near McLeod, Hacienda

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a man suspected in a homicide discovered this morning near McLeod and Hacienda.

Steven Woodard, 43, is suspected in the death of an elderly male on Florence Avenue. Metro officers conducting a welfare check discovered the body just after 6:50 a.m. Officers say the victim was likely killed Monday night.

According to a Metro news release, Metro Homicide detectives say they believe Woodard attempted to harm his father and his father’s roommate in a residence on Cottonwood Place.

Woodard is described as a white male adult, approximately 6-feet tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, on foot in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway.

Woodard should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who has any information about Steven Woodard should immediately call 911.
