LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- It's the newest way scam artists are going after the victims online: click-jacking.

The Better Business Bureau explains how it works:

Like most online scams, you receive an email or text that directs you to a website to win a brand name product, like an iPad. The site looks authentic, but scammers use invisible links.

Upon clicking, a code is activated and victims have inadvertently made amazon purchases, even changed the settings on their computers.

Some advice:

-- Don't fall for teasers like videos that claim to show sensational pictures offers for a free trip.

-- If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.

-- Go to the actual website, as opposed to simply following the posted link.
