LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Nevada Highway Patrol has charged a man for driving under the influence in Monday’s fatal crash on U.S. 95 near the Summerlin Parkway.

According to NHP, Gary Richard Adair Jr., 22, from Las Vegas, was taken to the Clark County Detention Center and booked for driving under the influence causing death. He also faces a charge of failing to maintain a travel lane.

The accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 95 southbound before Rainbow Boulevard.

Early reports indicated that Adair suffered a diabetic episode but as the investigation continued troopers found that the accident was DUI-related and not medical.

Kadar Lee Brown, 38, was working on a broken-down vehicle when he was hit by a green Dodge Durango driving by Adair.
