LAS VEGAS (KSNV – One person is dead this morning after an accident late Wednesday night in the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Warm Springs Road.

The Clark County Coroner's office on Thursday afternoon said the female passenger killed in a car collision Wednesday night was identified as 30-year-old Iva Georgieva Mihova of Las Vegas.

The intersection was closed this morning for several hours during the investigation.

According to Metro, a Ford Focus was traveling north on Eastern just before 11:50 p.m. and ran a red light, hitting a BMW heading east on Warm Springs. Both people inside the BMW were taken to a hospital, where the passenger, a woman, later died.

The driver of the Ford Focus was being tested for alcohol use.
