Motorcycle rider critically injured in DUI accident

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- A 40-year-old Las Vegas man is in critical condition this morning after his motorcycle had a high-speed collision with a 2009 Toyota Corolla early today.

Metro reports the accident occurred about 2:15 a.m. on West Flamingo Road west of Cimarron Road.

Robert L. Myles was taken to UMC in critical condition while the driver of the Toyota, 29-year-old Jason Williams of Las Vegas failed a field sobriety test and was charged with felony DUI.

A passenger in the Toyota, 27-year-old Lacey Rifle, was not injured.

Metro said evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate that Myles' 2012 assembled custom motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Flamingo Road at a high rate of speed while the Toyota was westbound on Flamingo Road attempting to make a left (southbound) turn into a private drive at 8301 W.
