Pedestrian struck, killed near Sahara, Cimarron

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – A woman was killed Sunday night after she was struck and killed attempting to cross a road outside a marked crosswalk.

According to a Metro news release, a 1999 Honda Accord was traveling northbound just after 5:15 p.m. on Cimarron Road in the inside travel lane near Laredo Street. A pedestrian was walking across Cimarron Road in the intersection from west to east, outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was hit by the Honda Accord in the inside travel lane.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman from Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel.

This collision was the 94th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2013. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
