The Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force, which is made up of traffic officers from the Nevada Highway Patrol, Las Vegas Metro, North Las Vegad and Henderson, on Tuesday announced plans and objectives when for their latest “Saturated Enforcement” area.

The follow-up to the successful event in April will take place on Wednesday May 15.

The Task Force will move its focus to two identified portions of the Las Vegas Freeway System.Officers will conduct highly visible saturation patrols in two areas within the Las Vegas valley.

The first enforcement zone will be both directions on US 95 from IR15 to Lake Mead Boulevard.

The second enforcement zone will focus on IR15 between Lake Mead Boulevard and Russell Road both northbound and southbound.

Officers will conduct a high frequency of traffic stops in the assigned areas, for any and all hazardous moving violations.

The focus will be on crash causing violations on Southern Nevada freeways.
  • These violations include:
  • Following Too Closely
  • Speeding
  • Unsafe Lane Changes
  • Cell Phone/Distracted Driving
A “zero tolerance” approach will be adapted within the enforcement zones.

The primary goal of the Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force is to increase public awareness toward crash causing violations through highly visible enforcement, and educating the public with help from our media partners.
