LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A motorcyclist that witnesses say was weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed was killed Tuesday night on Tropicana Avenue just west of Paradise Road.
According to a Metro news release, witness statements and evidence at the scene indicate a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R was traveling east on Tropicana recklessly just before 5 p.m. A 2005 Toyota 4Runner and 2011 Lincoln Town Car were stopped facing east for a red traffic signal west of Paradise.
For unknown reasons the rider of the Suzuki, a 30-year-old man from Henderson, hit the rear right of the Toyota and was ejected from the cycle. It slid on its left side and impacted the rear of the Lincoln. The motorcyclist was transported to Sunrise Hospital and was pronounced dead by attending medical personnel.
The drivers of the Toyota and Lincoln had no injuries.
This is the 65th-traffic related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2013 and second that involved a motorcyclist on Tuesday. This collision remains under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigations Section.
