LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Three people have been taken to the hospital so far today as the Las Vegas Valley bakes under an early summer heat wave with record temperatures.

It's probable that the longer the extreme heat conditions continue medical assistance calls may increase, an official says.

The 911 center that serves Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County reported 11 heat-related calls as of 2:30 this afternoon. The high temperature at McCarran International Airport was 114 degrees as of 3:30 p.m. The record high for June 29 is 115 degrees and the all-time official record in Las Vegas is 117 degrees.

Of the heat-related ambulance calls, all were adults ranging from their 20s to their late 50s. The three transported to the hospital did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.

There were no reported drownings today, the same as Friday.

On Friday, there were 35 heat-related calls for the 911 center. In addition, more than 200 people were treated for heat symptoms at a music festival at the Silverton Hotel-Casino in an event held on an asphalt parking lot. Of the 204 treated, 34 required transport to a hospital.

"We will probably start to see a rise in calls Sunday and Monday as the event prolongs," Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Information/Public Education Officer Tim Szymanski wrote in a news release. "People’s bodies will be more agitated the longer the event last and people may require medical assistance."

Another report on calls for this afternoon and evening will be released about 8:30 p.m.
