LAS VEGAS -- Coronado High School was filled with cheers when graduating seniors paraded through the hallways during the school's first-ever Cougar grad walk.

Dressed in full graduation regalia, with cords and medallions on display, seniors were led by the school's marching band as faculty, underclassmen and families honored these outstanding graduates to commemorate their achievements.

During the celebration, Coronado High School faculty were adorned in black graduation robes.

The Cougar Grad Walk began at the front of the school and ended near the football field.

This event was a special send-off for Coronado High School seniors before they end the school year and go on to graduate at the Thomas and Mack Center on Thursday, June 12.

More than 600 seniors from Coronado High School donned caps and gowns Friday morning for a parade around the school.

Faculty, parents and underclassmen came out to cheer them on.

Like most local high schools, Coronado has far too many students to hold graduation on campus, so this gives everyone a chance to the see the class of 2014 decked out in full regalia.

"I'm probably going to miss being with my friends every day at school, just being able to see them, high fives through the hallway," said senior Tanner Bellamy.

District-wide, more than 14,000 students will be receiving diplomas in June. Coronado has one of the largest graduating classes.
