HENDERSON, Nev. (Las Vegas Sun) -- A woman died and two people were injured Thursday after a three-car collision on U.S. 95 near Horizon Ridge Parkway.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded to reports of the accident about 4:20 p.m. A woman was driving a pickup truck south on U.S. 95 when she crashed into a tow truck loading a car on the shoulder, Trooper Loy Hixson said. She then hit a Toyota Camry in the middle travel lane.

The woman was pronounced dead on scene. Two passengers in the Camry were transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Hixson said.

U.S. 95 southbound from the 215 Beltway to Horizon Ridge Parkway was reopened about 8:25 p.m., according to the Regional Transportation Commission.
