HENDERSON, Nev. -- Some local high school students are not being allowed on campus this week after administrators suspended them for a messy football celebration.
The 19 Green Valley students say the punishment does not fit the crime. They say it was just a school spirit stunt.
School officials say it's more serious then that.
A total of 19 students are suspended and there may be more suspensions after today.
Flour is the culprit.
The students threw flour in the air. School officials were not amused. It all happened Friday night at the Green Valley High School football field.
A video was obtained by News 3 which shows students in the act.
A school spirit group known as the "Insta-Gators" tossed flour up in the air after a Green Valley High School touchdown.
No one was hurt and according to parents it was all done for fun.
But, Green Valley officials decided to suspend 19 students for three days for the "campus disturbance."
Some parents are outraged and many of the GVHS student body believes school leaders went overboard.
