LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A popular Las Vegas liquor store company known for its humorous and sometimes outrageous advertising may have gone a step too far.
Lee's Discount Liquor Store is already taking down one billboard and has plans to strip another after complaints from the community.
News 3's Elizabeth Donatelli went to the site of one of the billboards just off the 95 at Lake Mead where it may too come down.
The sign that has some people laughing and others upset is just off an interstate that thousands of people drive by everyday.
The billboard shows a young woman on top of a keg of beer with the words,”I'd tap that ... meaning the keg with a sexual innuendo.
The billboard that sparked an online petition is near Tropicana and Decatur and reads “Alcohol is cheaper than therapy.”
And today we got an email from another viewer upset with a Lee's Liquor billboard southbound on the 15 near St. Rose Parkway reads: “If at first you don't succeed, buy her another drink.”
News 3 spoke with the owner of a billboard company and ad agency who agrees these billboards go a little too far. Even for Las Vegas.
“Humor is one of those things where it's going to make sense to some people and offended half the other,” said Gil Castiano, owner City Mobile Billboards.
