LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A man witnessed driving wildly in the northwest part of the valley ended with his arrest about 12:40 p.m. today. He then kicked out a rear window on a Metro squad car while being transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
"Fortunately nobody else was hurt during all of this. The reports from the officers who observed him are that he drove very erratically with several U-turns and wild swerving," Metro Officer Laura Meltzer told News 3.
The incident started at 12:25 p.m. when an unmarked Metro car saw the man driving wildly near Rancho and U.S. 95.
"The unmarked car tried to make a stop but was unsuccessful," Meltzer said. "He continued on Rainbow in both directions and was also on Craig Road. The air unit was called and spotted him on the 95 where it merges with Rainbow, and a stop was eventually made with both marked and unmarked units."
Meltzer confirmed that the man kicked out a squad car rear window while he was being taken to CCDC.
The man was given a field sobriety test.
Various charges are pending depending on the details of what happened, Meltzer said.
