LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Metro police are investigating a string of car burglaries in the Rhodes Ranch development.

Approximately 40 cars were broken into Thursday.

Metro confirmed that three reports were filed, but say there were others who informed police someone had broken into their vehicles overnight, with many deciding not to file a report because nothing was damaged or taken.

Police say in some cases valuables were in plain sight and doors were unlocked.

If you have any information about these series of car break-ins, call the Enterprise Area Command Property Crimes at (702) 828-4809.
