LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Out with the old, in with the new.

Internet giant Zappos makes a downtown move, officially taking over the old Las Vegas city hall.

Zappos is now officially moved in after what could be the world's largest ribbon cutting ceremony.

The PENTA Building Group announced Monday it has completed its renovation of the former Las Vegas City Hall into the new Zappos headquarters in Downtown Las Vegas.

“This is a significant project for the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas. As a Las Vegas-based company with deep roots in this community, PENTA is thrilled to be a part of such an iconic project for the area,” said Bryan Richards, project manager for The PENTA Building Group. “Zappos has been an engaged, hands-on partner since the beginning. It is rewarding to work alongside another company that is truly committed to providing a high-quality facility for both its employees and the community.”

Comprehensive internal and external renovations on the 41-year-old former city hall began in August 2012.

The project created a number of local construction jobs, with as many as 300 workers per day involved during the peak of this renovation project.

The facility is tailored to match the unique, open-minded culture of Zappos. Work spaces for employees at every level are out in the open, instead of inside individual offices.

Workers will be free to move their desks anytime and anywhere they choose, as desks are not bolted down and electrical systems are accessible through the ceiling instead of the floor.

News 3's Elizabeth Donatelli got a tour today of the new Zappos building and found out it is true about having video games in the elevators.

It's not your typical buttoned down corporate culture.

Zappos Campus Developer Zach Ware said the goal is to have people interact. That's how they get the best possible product.

For example, all employees will walk through the plaza to get to work to pass each other and maybe even talk.

They can also do that outside in the backyard. There are open spaces throughout the 6.5 acre campus including the workspace. There are no wall.

Part of the campus will be accessible to the public too. Right now the lobby is open with Wi-Fi and air conditioning and at some point the backyard could be open for events.
