LAS VEGAS (KSNV — More than a week after the senseless tragedy, a person who had been linked to the sovereign citizen movement discusses what might have been in the minds of the killers of two Metro officers and a civilian.

David Brutsche had been on parole after pleading guilty for his role in a plot to kidnap and potentially kill a police officer. He is in the Clark County Detention Center on a parole violation.

Like Jerad and Amanda Miller, Brutsche associated himself with radical anti-government views.

“They begin to realize the system is not what it should be,” Brutsche said. “It’s a little tyrannical and ... It gets worse and worse and they’re still caught up in the system.”

Brutsche says he was interviewed by police on June 8, the day of the shootings that took the lives of Metro Officers Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck, and civilian Joseph Wilcox. Brutsche was then arrested for a parole violation.

Brutsche says he and the Millers never met.
