Coroner identifies MGM Grand worker killed in fall

LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Clark County coroner’s office has released the identity of the MGM Grand worker who was killed Tuesday afternoon.

Ricky J. Robinson, 59, of Las Vegas died of multiple blunt force injuries after a fall and impact with a motorized carrier. The coroner ruled the death an accident.

The accident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

MGM spokesman Gordon Absher, in a statement, confirms the employee died after a fall from the third floor of the resort's conference center but did not elaborate.

“A tragic accident occurred this afternoon at the MGM Grand Conference Center. A member of the MGM Grand team died after an accident that resulted in a fall from the third floor of the Conference Center building,” Absher said.

“MGM Grand is cooperating fully with authorities. OSHA has been notified. This is a difficult time and a devastating loss for our entire MGM team. The thoughts of our entire MGM team are with the family at this difficult time.”
