LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) –
A man was shot and killed Tuesday night at a gas station near Tropicana and Valley View, according to a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the release, officers were sent just before 11 p.m. to the 3700 block of West Tropicana Avenue to investigate reports of a male who had been shot. Arriving officers located an adult male lying in the eastbound lanes of Tropicana Avenue suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds.
The male was transported by arriving medical personnel to the UMC Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation initiated by Metro’s Homicide Section shows the victim had parked his vehicle at the gas pumps and had remained there for about 30 minutes. The victim eventually exited the vehicle and was standing nearby when he was struck by gunfire.
Two suspects then got into a tan-colored, four-door sedan and left the area.
No suspects have been identified, and the motive remains unknown. The identity of the victim as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office. This is the 62nd homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
